Things are cooking at the Nova Scotia Sea School! We finished two amazing March Break programs- One was Take it Outside!, a 5 day, 4 night wilderness survival camp in the woods of Aylesford Lake (special thanks to Brigadoon Village for letting us use their land!) that gave us pretty much all the weather Nova Scotia has to offer. They worked with many different kinds of hand tools to build some tables and the frame for a woodshed at Brigadoon Village. The other was called Build It!, where participants built lamps, sea chests, jewellery boxes, hand carved necklaces, and raised garden beds for the George Dixon Community Centre. They also took a special trip to Windhorse Farm for a barn and forest tour, as well as a tour of their guitar making workshop. There will be a showcase for all the art on May 3rd. We’ll keep you posted about the location and time.
We’re also getting geared up to launch our summer registration…Get ready for April 11th! From then on we’ll be taking registrations for our 5 and 7 day sailing expeditions happening this July and August.
